all eyes on me: I've figured out why I prefer seeing Britney in concert over Lady Gaga

Just saw this and I really felt the urge to tell you this:
Everything Gaga does has to do with her fans. Try to find ONE interview where she doesn’t mention how much she love her fans. Impossible. When she was in England and fans stood outside her hotel waiting for her, she felt sorry for them so she went down and gave them cookies and signed autographs and took photos with them. I can honestly say that I don’t there’s ever been anyone who cares so much about his or her fans.

And when it comes to her performance, honestly what more can you ask of her? It is absolutley fantastic, she sings on her own (something Britney’s not so good at..) and excuse me but, HELLOOOOEE!! The Monster Ball is all about her fans? How we should be happy about ourselfs, love who we are and fuck the people who say anything else.  But aslo, of course the focus is on her, we came to see Lady Gaga perform, right? :)

I know what you mean, but in my personal opinion, I feel like Lady Gaga’s adoration of her fans sometimes feels selfish. I feel like she’s exploiting her gay fans more than she’s helping them sometimes.

I’m not trying to piss off any Lady Gaga fans. I’ve been a fan of hers since before she was even remotely famous. I just wanted to voice this feeling I couldn’t shake when seeing Lady Gaga perform (and again when I watched her HBO special) that it was all just one giant scream for attention. That she loves her fans more for their wholehearted dedication to her than anything else.

But then again… I guess that’s what fans are for. I don’t know. I’m really just thinking out loud here :)
