But Android phones (like my awesome Nexus S) have been doing many of these “new” features for quite a while.
Here’s my own short list of things that Android already does well that Apple is finally catching onto:
- Twitter integration - Android ups the ante by seamlessly integrating sharing among *every* social app on your phone — not just Twitter
- Pull-down notifications - If I’m not mistaken, Android’s been doing this from the very start
- Cloud-based syncing - Apps, contacts and, recently, music are all synced to your Android device. When I bought my new phone, all I had to go was sign into my Google account, and it automatically downloaded all my contacts and apps for me
- Free e-mail, document, and photo storage - Gmail, Google Docs, and Picasa have been letting you do this for years
OK, I’m done ranting. I love Apple — I really do. I just hate how everyone writes Android off as a lesser operating system, when in reality it’s got a lot of benefits that I don’t have time to go over here.
